Professor Gianna Valentino’s research group, Structural Materials and Metallurgy, focuses on understanding and harnessing process-microstructure-property relationships in materials for extreme environments. Using advanced manufacturing methods, we manipulate materials to uncover their fundamental deformation mechanisms and tailor damage pathways through interfacial control. We explore, test, and push materials to their limits, advancing insights into functional and structural materials.
